R.I.P Charlie boy

Our beloved and most loyal dog Charlie died today. We are full of sadness. He has been such an important part of our family for 13 years. Considering he started out on the streets of Detroit, we know he had a great life in Michigan, California, at NELP and then in Maine. He was the best, most loving dog we've ever known. Sam and I were both lying with him as he drifted off this afternoon.

Sam and Emilee, So sorry to hear about your loss. Char-char was a truly loving and loved being. I know how special he was to you. His life was full of love from you. He must have passed in peace. Thinking of you. -Lisa

My heart is with you, Em and Sam. I hope you are comforted by the fact that Charlie was the luckiest dog in the world to have found you both.

I so loved that furry hunk of love...even got accused once or twice of babying him - ("He's not a baby!!!") Aw, Char - what a great dog he was. The best. And a shining part of some of my very bestest memories - from winding climbs in Big Sur to your sunny-day wedding... Sam and Em - my sad heart goes out to you.

Love, Margie

Dear, sweet Charlie. How he loved and how loved he was. Charlie was a part of so many happy life-events. It was a real blessing for you both, Emilie, when your path crossed Charlie's. My favorite memory of Charlie is his sauntering down the "aisle" during your wedding, proudly fulfilling his assigned wedding duty. He will always live on in your remembrances. Love, Jo Ann
