Pie Challenge! {no pies left}

Thanks so much to several of my friends and family; I have already made 10% of my fund raising goal for Leukemia and Lymphoma.

A few things have to happen in order for me to raise the money that I need to raise:

1. I need to shamelessly ask for money, which is hard to do (stop laughing, Mom).
2. I need to come up with creative ideas and incentives.

So, here I am, asking for money. I have a long way to go (90% to be exact).

If you need a little bit of incentive, I have it right here, but you have to be a local, and I have no idea how many of you who read the blog are local, so we will see if this actually works.

The first three local people to donate to LLS will have a Strawberry Rhubarb* pie delivered to their house warm from the oven. You just have to leave a comment here saying that you are donating for the pie challenge and I'll contact you for pie delivery.

*If Strawberry Rhubarb pie is not your favorite, I can make whatever you want, because I aim to please you, people. It's just that rhubarb is ripe and ready and just so darn good.

It's a win, win, win situation:
You get to give money for cancer research and feel good about that.
I get to bake pies.
You get to eat a pie.

Just click here to make a donation.

I'm still working on thinking of a good incentive if you aren't in pie-receiving distance, but right now, I don't have a good way to mail a pie. More incentives coming. Stay tuned.

How clever! This is such a great way to combine two of your loves (baking and running) with a cause close to your heart. I am cheering you on the sidelines.

OK, Can I enter this competition for the pie? But instead of donating all at once by credit card I will write you a check once a month in order to spread it out. So consider that my first donation is in (The next time I see you I will give you a check and you can bring me a pie the week Chris and Dan are here. And then stay and enjoy it with us).

You are indeed a creative fund-raiser but it is for SUCH a good cause and one that I believe in wholeheartedly.

Good luck and tons of love, Mom

My friend Ann took the pie challenge and made a donation today. I'll be delivering a warm pie to her this weekend.
Thanks Ann!
P.S. There are still 2 more pies available because my mom is my mom... and i'll bake her a pie anyway, but there are still 2 more for people who aren't related to me. :)

I just did Relay for Life, and I had a pretty good incentive that made me some bucks. I sewed bags, like purses. I bought cheap fabric at Marden's and it worked out really well for me. Just a though, if you sew.
