Faced with another rainy day and Sam gone all day at his graduation, I decided to ignore the rain and head to Bar Harbor with the kids. Skyler and Reed were way into the idea. Skyler said: "We don't care about rain! We're Manharts."
it wasn't drizzling. it was raining. they skipped and frolicked and stomped for over an hour. there wasn't one complaint from anyone.
throwing rocks
finding sand worms and shells
warm, dry clothes. a stop at the bakery for coffee, popovers and hot chocolate.

Fabulous!! What a great way to spend a rainy Maine day. As I told Chris and Dan when they were here last week, there is something magical about the Maine coast in the mist. (That is what one tells visitors when the forecast is for a rainy week.) By the way, we had a lobster feast at the very lobster shack you showed. It was perfect.
Three cheers to you and the kids for that great "Manhart spirit."
Or, as they taught us at summer camp (Merrowvista, in case you were wondering): there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.
70% progress for your fundraiser, ALREADY? Is that the total or just online donations? WAY TO GO! :) My little race is on Saturday.. oh gosh.
Oh what a perfectly beautiful day :)
Way to make lemons into lemonade, my friend. You Manharts...I tell you.
