getting ready!

We have shopped for everything we need for the Clean Food Challenge.  Skyler and Sam took Lila and Joe to Rockland to the Farnsworth Museum today, and Reed got to have a special shopping and cooking day with me.

I have some recipes and other planning ideas that I'll work on later. Right now I'm surrounded by piles of groceries and trying to start some cooking while also organizing lunches for the week while keeping Reed busy with helping projects.

Sarah posted her eating plan in a comment in the post below, and she has some great ideas too, so check it out.

We did most of our shopping at our regular grocery store and did the rest at The Natural Living Center, our local health food store.  We bought mostly organic, but not totally.  I tried not to spend much more than I usually do in a week.   I'll be back soon!

we decided that eggs were not on the list b/c they are an allergen (same with citrus and strawberries and peanuts). I'm sure I'm not allergic to these things, so I'm going to eat them. Sarah is eating eggs too. It makes it easier, doesn't it? xo

Susan here with my Clean Food dinner menus for part of the week. I'm trying to eat vegan since I try to boost my vegies and whole grains all the time, so I wanted to try something more challenging.

Mushroom Barley Soup and Chickpea Patties

Bulgur Salad and Roasted Squash

Spicy Red Lentils with Spinach and Curried Brussel Sprouts

I think I will miss yogurt the most, but after Tday it might be sweets. I'll keep you posted.

Looks like my table of food! :) I'm glad to hear a yes for eggs, because that does help. Unfortunately I spent more at the grocery store today on stuff for myself then I normally spend for all of us...but I found some great soup recipes I'm going to try. What did I have for dinner tonight? I big plate of pasta and loaf of bread :). I'll miss that! We'll see how long I last on this....
