A few days post marathon, I feel fantastic. I'm feeling energized and excited for what is to come. I am resting for a couple days (well, from training, certainly not from our busy life), and then it's time to kick it into gear for the Danskin Triathlon I'm doing in 7 weeks. Time to tune up my bike and convince Sam to give up one or two hours of pool time at our local pool so I can swim.
My mother always wants to know if I am going to "take it easy" for a while after a big race. Truth be told, nothing makes me more motivated to amp up my training than an event like the Vermont City Marathon. I need to give my legs a day to recover, but I'm actually itching to run.
Maine is finally so warm and summery and beautiful!
Here is a post I wrote before the marathon and never posted.
Here is the crew for the Brandi Carlile and Ray Lamontagne concert last Thursday night on the Bangor Waterfront. What a wonderful night, made even more awesome by the VIP passes that were given to us by our friend Matt (next to me) who works for Darling's, one of the big sponsors of the concert series. VIP badges got us complimentary food and drinks in the VIP tent and our own bathroom, so no long lines for us.
My favorite part of the VIP badge is that you could exit the gates of the concert to get back to the VIP tent, and the event staff would shout: "You can't exit and re-enter!" and I'd flash my badge, and they'd say, "Oh sorry! Go right ahead!" I like it when rules don't apply to me.
A gang of great girlfriends as the wind picks up.
A perfect representation of Suz and Sam's relationship. He kind of acts like her big brother. They love each other dearly.
Live music by the river! And out with my husband on a week night! All such novel ideas.
This week is busy, busy, busy! But the warm weather and the sunshine is amazing. Enjoy it!
